Portable Equipment Registration Program(PERP)

Owners or operators of portable engines and certain other types of equipment can register their units under the Air Resources Board (ARB) Statewide Portable Equipment Registration Program (PERP) in order to operate their equipment throughout California without having to obtain individual permits from local air districts.

To register in PERP, all engines must meet the following tier levels:

Engine Ratings

Tier Level

50 to 74 bhp: Certified Final Tier 4
75 & above bhp: Certified Interim Tier 4

The California Air Resources Board has granted permission to individual air pollution districts the ability to issue permits for the operation of Tier 1 and Tier 2 engines.

It is our goal to educate all involved to prevent companies from being fined for non-compliance. Please contact us at your earliest convenience at (877) 574-8289. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
